Huis Ten Bosch Museum

The magnificent art museum located within Palace Huis Ten Bosch houses a large collection of world-famous art, including copperplate prints by Rembrandt. Among them, the collection of works by MC Escher, famous for his optical illusions, is one of the best in the world. Enjoy the permanent exhibition of the collection as well as the special exhibitions held each season.

Learn and discover! A journey through Rembrandt and Dutch painting

[Period] February 13, 2026 - June 28, 2026

Since its opening, the Huis Ten Bosch Museum of Art has showcased works themed around Dutch painting and European culture.
This exhibition will display Dutch paintings and related works from Huis Ten Bosch 's collection. It will be easy to understand even for those new to art appreciation, and will provide basic knowledge on how to appreciate artworks, focusing on the genre of painting.

Huis Ten Bosch Collection Exhibition Gallery Talk

Date: Every Sunday
time: 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM (approximately 60 minutes each)
A gallery talk will be held by the curator in charge.
After the artwork explanation, guests will have time to enjoy interactive art appreciation within the museum.

Music Box Gallery

Location: 2nd floor exhibition room
The automatic musical instrument exhibition will be reopened at Palace Huis Ten Bosch.
Enjoy the precious music boxes and organs that Huis Ten Bosch has in its collection.

Music Box Symphony Tour

Date: Every Saturday
time: 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM (approximately 20 minutes each)
A curator will demonstrate and introduce automatic musical instruments.
Please enjoy the beautiful sound.

Dutch folklore exhibit

Location: 3rd floor exhibition room
Huis Ten Bosch has a collection of approximately 3,000 folk materials, including Dutch folk costumes, accessories, and implements from the 19th century, some of which are on display. Along with these folk materials, we will also introduce 19th century Dutch culture through paintings from the book "Dutch Regional Costumes Drawn from Life" by the Dutch painters Valentyn Bing (1812-95) and Braet Von Ueberfeldt (1807-94).

Maurits Cornelis Escher, a leading Dutch printmaker of the 20th century. This special exhibition focuses on the superhuman craftsmanship hidden behind the wonder of his "optical illusions." At the Huis Ten Bosch Museum, which boasts one of the world's leading Escher collections, we will unravel the "magic of Escher's fingertips," the craftsman who breathed life into lines as small as one millimeter.

・Anyone who causes a nuisance or behaves in a way that may damage the artwork, or who does not follow the instructions of the host crew, may be asked to leave.
