About TELLBO in general

Can TELLBO be used with Wi-Fi?
TELLBO does not support Wi-Fi. TELLBO communicates using a SIM card in the same way as a smartphone.
Can TELLBO be used with the power removed (is it battery compatible)?
Please note that TELLBO does not support batteries and cannot be used if the power is removed.
Can I replace the SIM card?
The SIM card used for TELLBO is exclusively for TELLBO and cannot be replaced. Also, the built-in SIM card cannot be taken out and used with devices other than TELLBO. Please note that we are not responsible for any problems caused by using with devices other than TELLBO.
Can I change my stuffed animal?
You can easily remove the stuffed animal from the TELLBO body by opening the zipper on the bottom of the stuffed animal. It is also possible to exchange for a separately sold stuffed toy. However, please note that we are not responsible for any problems that may occur if you use a stuffed animal other than our separately sold special stuffed animal.
Is it possible to connect a mobile phone (feature phone)?
Mobile phones (feature phones) cannot be connected. TELLBO can only be connected via the dedicated app for smartphones.
What is the material of the TELLBO body?
The body of TELLBO is made of ABS resin.
What is the material of the TELLBO stuffed animal?
TELLBO plush toys are made of 100% polyester fabric.
Which sensor is compatible with TELLBO?
It is a door (vibration) sensor, room sensor, motion sensor and key sensor. Room sensor, motion sensor and key sensor are sold separately.
How many sensors can be connected to one TELLBO?
Up to 8 sensors can be connected to one TELLBO.
How many seconds can you send a message?
You can record a message for up to 30 seconds by briefly pressing the record button on TELLBO's belly to record for 6 seconds, or by holding down the record button while recording.
How many text characters can be sent from the smartphone app?
Maximum of 200 characters.
Can messages from TELLBO be sent only to specific smartphones?
You cannot send a message from TELLBO to a specific smartphone. If multiple smartphones are connected in a group, the sent message will be sent to all connected smartphones.
How many smartphones can you group with TELLBO?
Up to 30 smartphones can be connected to TELLBO as a group.
Can I have a conversation with TELLBO himself?
You cannot talk to TELLBO yourself, but you can set an event that repeats every day or an event that specifies the date and time that you tend to forget from your registered smartphone, and talk automatically, and the weather and warnings in the area where TELLBO is installed. It is possible to speak automatically.
Can I move and use TELLBO?
If you move the TELLBO to use it, unplug the power from the outlet, reconnect the power to the outlet at the new location, and communication will resume automatically. It may take some time to resume communication depending on the communication environment of the newly installed location. In addition, communication may not be possible depending on the radio wave condition.
How many types of stuffed animals are sold separately?

Can TELLBO's voice be changed?
For TELLBO's voice, you can select your favorite 4 types of voice from the dedicated smartphone application.
The smartphone app does not recognize TELLBO.

Initial settings cannot be made only on specific smartphones.
Some smartphone devices do not support the initial settings of TELLBO. If you cannot connect to a specific smartphone device, please try connecting using the "member invitation function".

  • Connect to TELLBO with a smartphone that can be connected, such as an iPhone, and perform the initial settings.
  • After completing the initial settings, tap the setting menu icon at the top right of the timeline screen of the TELLBO room, and then tap the member invitation on the menu screen.
  • Follow the instructions and send an invitation to the smartphone that could not be connected. Invitations can be sent by "email", "email" or "SMS".
  • Follow the instructions in the invitation you received to join TELLBO's room.

If you want to leave the first smartphone connected for the invitation function from the TELLBO room, please follow the steps below.

<For iPhone users>

  • The members who are currently participating are displayed in the "Members" field in the setting screen. Tap the icon you want to delete.
  • The personal icon screen will be displayed, so tap the icon at the top right of the screen. The options "Leave the group" or "Remove from the group" will be displayed. Select that.
  • Answer "yes" to the question "really?" This completes the exit and deletion from the group.
<Android users>
  • Tap the "..." icon at the top right of the TELLBO room where the member you want to leave, and the timeline screen, and then select "Room Information".
  • The members who are currently participating are displayed in the "Members" field in the setting screen. Tap the icon you want to delete.
  • The item "Delete from this room" is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Please tap after confirmation.
  • Answer "OK" to the question "Are you sure?" This completes the exit and deletion from the group.

* Members who have left will not be able to see TELLBO's room. When you participate again, please make the initial settings again.

Is it possible to use multiple TELLBOs and send a separate message for each TELLBO?
Within the smartphone app, you can send separate messages in the form of separate rooms for each TELLBO.
Can I delete past messages?
Past messages cannot be deleted individually.
I want to share TELLBO's room with people who are far away.
If you want to share the TELLBO room with people who live far away or have smartphone terminals that cannot be initialized, please try connecting using the "member invitation function".

Sending a text message to TELLBO does not speak.
If the language setting of your smartphone is other than Japanese, you will not be able to read Japanese messages aloud. Please set the language setting of your smartphone to Japanese and try it.
The characters sent from TELLBO may be incorrect (converted to strange characters).
The voice recorded by TELLBO uses voice recognition to convert the voice into characters, but it may not be converted correctly depending on the noise around the recording and the way the person being recorded speaks. In such a case, either play the audio file that is sent at the same time as the text and listen to it, or talk to the person to be recorded as close to TELLBO as possible and record. Please ask for it.
Can I speak with TELLBO's voice when sending a voice message from a smartphone?
If you send a voice message from your smartphone, TELLBO will speak the voice as it is, so if you want TELLBO to speak, please enter it in characters and send it.
What if I missed TELLBO's speech or want to hear the last message again?
Lift TELLBO and say the last message again.
I want to listen to the old message again with TELLBO.
TELLBO speaks when the last message comes when he lifts TELLBO, but he cannot hear the messages before that.
TELLBO no longer speaks.

About TELLBO software automatic update.

I want to reset TELLBO once and then connect again.
By logging in first with your own TELLBO account and then making the initial settings with TELLBO, you can see the log of the TELLBO room before the reset, and you can see the new TELLBO with the same account. You can use the room. Please register an account in advance when resetting the main unit.

The information about the TELLBO room before the reset will be lost. You need to create a new account and make initial settings for TELLBO from the beginning.

I want to transfer the used TELLBO to another person.
When transferring the used TELLBO to a third party, press and hold the reset button on the back of the TELLBO main unit with a toothpick for 3 seconds or longer to reset it. If you transfer it without resetting it, there is a possibility that a third party will be able to see all the contents such as the message contents and the reaction status of the sensor on the timeline screen of the TELLBO room you were using. Please note that it will be a problem. In addition, if the person to whom the monthly communication contract is transferred cannot take over, the guests 's communication contract will be canceled and the new communication contract of the transferred person will be required.

About the app

I can't install the app.
If you cannot install the app, please check the following items.
  • Please check the OS version of your smartphone. If you are using an older version, please update to the latest OS version. iOS devices need to be updated to 8.0 or later / Android devices need to be updated to 4.4 or later.
  • The smartphone device must be equipped with a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) device.
  • It cannot be installed from an Android device that does not have Google Play installed.
    • * The TELLBO app only supports Japanese.
I can't log in.
Please make sure that your registered email address and password are entered correctly. If you have forgotten your password, enter your e-mail address from the login form and reset your password from "Forgot your password?".
I want to change the profile image or name.
Launch the TELLBO app and tap the room setting icon at the top left of the screen to open the setting screen. You can set / change from the profile at the top of the setting screen.
I want to change the name of the sensor.
  • Launch the TELLBO app and enter the TELLBO room with the sensor you want to rename.
  • On the timeline screen, tap "Sensor Illustration" at the left end of the sensor notification of the sensor you want to rename.
  • You can change it to your favorite name by tapping the name displayed under the item "Sensor name".
The sound played from the TELLBO app is low.
In the TELLBO app, when the smartphone is set to silent mode, it is played with a small sound from the earpiece speaker of the smartphone. When the smartphone is in normal mode, the sound is played louder than the speaker, so if you feel that the playback volume is low, try canceling the manner mode.
How can I check if the message sent from the smartphone app has been heard by TELLBO?
Since TELLBO will speak the message sent from the smartphone app without permission even if the other party is absent, it is not possible to confirm whether the other party has heard or not. However, for messages that are played by lifting the TELLBO main unit, the "read" icon is displayed on the timeline screen. In the case of an important message, we recommend that you resend the message or contact us by phone.
What is the difference between a timer function recurring event and a date / time specified event?
Repetitive events are regular events such as waking up, eating, and meds that are repeated daily or weekly. A date and time specified event is an event that occurs only once on a specific date and time, such as going out, visiting guests, and regular inspections.
How many utterances can be set for the repeated event of the timer function?
Only one content can be set to be spoken in a repetitive event. If you want to change the utterance content, you need to rewrite the utterance content in advance each time.
What if the repeating event of the timer function and the event of specifying the date and time overlap?
If the day of the week time registered for the repeated event and the day of the week time for the event with the specified date and time overlap, the content of the event with the specified date and time will be given priority.
Can I delete messages sent from the smartphone app?
You cannot delete the sent message.
How far back can I check the contents on the timeline screen of the smartphone app?
Currently it is unlimited, but it may be limited depending on the number of users in the future.
I want to hide the TELLBO room (delete it from the app screen).

  • Please set your "email address" and "password" on the account registration screen. This completes account registration.
<How to transfer data to a new smartphone> Procedure
  • Download the TELLBO app to the device you want to use.
  • Open the app and select "I accept the terms of use and get started".
  • It is in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap the "✕" icon. If you tap the gear-shaped "Settings" icon that appears at the top of the screen, the settings screen will be displayed.
  • It is in the "Account" section. Tap the "Login" display.
  • Please enter the email address and password you registered when you created your account.
  • Once you have logged in, you will be logged in to your account and transferred your data. You can continue to use the same TELLBO room.

* If you make the initial settings again before logging in, you will be registered as a new member. If you make the initial settings by mistake, log in to your account from the "Settings screen" and then delete unnecessary icons.

About door (vibration) sensor

The door sensor does not respond.
Insert the batteries in the door sensor in the immediate vicinity of TELLBO. Please confirm that you will receive the [Sensor added] notification in the TELLBO app on your smartphone. If you do not receive the notification after reinserting the batteries several times, replace the batteries with new ones (two AAA alkaline batteries) and try again.
If you install it on a door, you will not receive the notification.
If you receive a notification when you insert the battery, but the notification does not arrive when you install it on a door, etc., please check if the following items apply.
  • Is the TELLBO main unit and the sensor installation location separated by more than 10 meters from the line of sight?
  • Is there a lot of doors or walls between the TELLBO main unit and the sensor installation location?
  • Is the sensor battery low?

* The distance between the TELLBO main unit and the sensor that the notification is normally received is about 10 meters in line of sight. In addition, the distance may be shorter than the above depending on the wall or door sandwiched between them or the structure of the building.

I don't know how to set the "Talk with sensor" function.
Please set the following procedure.
  • Tap the "Sensor Illustration" icon at the left end of the sensor notification that arrives on the timeline screen of the TELLBO room in the TELLBO app.
  • Select "Talk with sensor" in the "Settings" item.
  • Tap the "+" mark to set the chat time zone, the number of reactions, and the content of the chat.
  • * Up to 3 chat settings can be added to one sensor, but the setting time cannot be set more than once.
  • * For TELLBO that has just been opened or just reset, please wait for about time When the TELLBO main unit is updated to the latest state, you can use the "chat with sensor" function.

I don't know how to set it to change the name of the door sensor
You can change the name of the door sensor by following the steps below. * The default name is "Door Sensor".

  • Select "Sensor Name" in the "Settings" section.
  • The character input screen will be displayed. Enter your favorite name and tap "Done" at the top right of the screen.
The reaction of the door sensor frequently pops up on the smartphone and is noisy
You can set ON / OFF of the notification in the pop-up when the door sensor reacts by the following procedure. However, if you turn off the pop-up notification with this setting, you can only check whether the door sensor is responding or not on the timeline screen of the TELLBO room, so be careful when using it for watching. About the key sensor

Key sensor does not respond
Insert the batteries in the key sensor in the immediate vicinity of TELLBO. Please confirm that you will receive the [Sensor added] notification in the TELLBO app on your smartphone. If you do not receive the notification after reinserting the batteries several times, replace the batteries with new ones (two AAA alkaline batteries) and try again.
It will be recognized as a door sensor on the app
Please wait for about time with TELLBO connected to the power supply (initial settings are completed and you can connect to the Internet).

* For TELLBO immediately after opening and TELLBO once reset, the version of TELLBO itself will be automatically updated to the latest version by taking the above measures.

After the update is completed, the set key sensor will be automatically changed to the correct notation, but in rare cases it may not be changed to the correct notation. In that case, reinsert the sensor battery and try pairing again.
The initial setting of the key sensor has failed
If you fail to set the open / closed state of the key sensor, you can set it again by reinserting the battery of the key sensor.

About the room sensor

Room sensor does not respond.

I don't know how to set the "Talk with sensor" function.

  • Select the item you want to talk to from the following contents in the "Settings" item.
    • Chat with "dry"

I get too many brightness notifications.
If the room sensor brightness notifications respond frequently and over-deliver, try the following methods.
(Change the installation position of the room sensor)
Move the installation position of the room sensor to a position higher than your height, which is less affected by outside light such as windows.
(Change the reaction frequency and sensitivity of the room sensor itself)
You can use the TELLBO app to change the frequency and sensitivity of the bright / dark response of the room sensor itself, so adjust it according to the environment of your room.
  • Tap the "Sensor Illustration" icon at the left end of the sensor notification that arrives on the timeline screen of the TELLBO room.
  • Select "Bright / Dark Response Frequency" in the "Settings" item.
  • Please set the reaction frequency from "High" and "Hidden" in the "Settings" item. * The default setting is "High".
  • Then select "Bright / Dark Sensitivity" in the "Settings" section.
  • Set the reaction sensitivity from "High", "Slightly high", "Normal", "Slightly low", and "Hidden" in the "Settings" item. * The default setting is "High".

About motion sensor

The motion sensor does not respond.
