Huis Ten Bosch and
Miffy 's Connection
In 1987, Dick Bruna, creator of Miffy, visited Nagasaki Dutch Village, the predecessor of Huis Ten Bosch, which led to a connection with Miffy. The original Miffy was then born, wearing a red scarf and yellow wooden shoes and holding a Dutch flag. It has now become an integral part of Huis Ten Bosch.

To celebrate the first anniversary of "Nijntje," the world's largest Miffy specialty Shop and cafe that opened in Huis Ten Bosch, Miffy 's friend from a faraway land, Melanie, has appeared in Huis Ten Bosch. She will be participating in the seasonal parade show and greetings with Miffy.

Nagasaki Huis Ten Bosch Opens
The "Huis Huis Ten Bosch Series" featuring Miffy, yachts, windmills and other artwork by Bruna inspired by Huis Ten Huis Ten Bosch has been released.
To commemorate the 400th anniversary of Japan-Netherlands relations, Bruna has created a drawing of Miffy holding the Japanese and Dutch flags.
