Set in the future of Huis Ten Bosch, the brand-new manga series『Anchoring Dutchman』begins its story

■ Narrative
Nagasaki, 2036
A young man's ghost appears before a curator preparing an exhibition at Huis Ten Bosch Museum. He is bound by the curse of the "Kruenvogel," a ship that sank 350 years ago, and continued wandering the seas, unable to find peace. There is only one way for him to break the curse and ascend to heaven: to find "true love" during the single opportunity he is granted to come ashore once every seven years. The female curator, burdened by pain and regrets from her past, has closed her heart to love. Yet, bewildered by their encounter across time and space, the two are gradually drawn one another…

■ Profile of Kan, Takahama
Born in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture. Graduated from Tsukuba University. In 2020, her work "Nyx's Lantern" won the "24th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Manga Grand Prize" and the "21st Japan Media Arts Festival Manga Division Excellence Award." Her other works include "Yellowbacks," "Awabi," "Nagiwatari," "Two Espresso," "Yotsuya-ku Hanazono-cho," the Nagasaki Trilogy "The Butterfly's Journey," "Nyx's Lantern," and "Ogishima Saijiki," "The Lover" (original work by Marguerite Duras), "When the Roses Bloom" (original work by Muriel Barbery), and others. She is highly regarded overseas, especially in France and Italy, and many of her works have been translated into various languages. She has also been invited to international comic festivals such as Angoulême and Lucca, and is attracting attention from various countries, mainly in Europe. Currently, she is serializing "Shishi to Botan," a historical romance about Amakusa Shiro's buried treasure, on Torch web.
