Huis Ten Bosch Escher Exhibition

Huis Ten Bosch boasts one of the world's leading Escher collections. This is the first time to introduce all of Escher's prints in our collection. A total of 138 works from his early years to his later years will be exhibited at once, and the appeal of his works will be explored.

Dutch printmaker. With outstanding descriptive power and printmaking skills, he is also known as a "fantastic printmaker" and a "mathemagician." He is famous for his later deception paintings and the style of repeating the same motif, but his works such as prints depicting landscapes and illustrations of books are also spectacular. His exhibitions have been held at various places in Japan as he is one of the most popular artists in Japan.

Built in the Hague Forest in the 17th century and now the residence of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, the exterior of the palace has been faithfully recreation with special permission from the Dutch royal family.
